Brian Kerslake, Managing Director
Brian read Ergonomics & Cybernetics at Loughborough University and programmed
for Lyons Bakery then London's Royal College of Art, where he got involved in
research into the computer-aided design of school buildings. A PGCE teacher-training
course followed, BBC micros arrived in schools, and he got fed up with giving
away software he'd written for his class. Today, he continues to look for new ideas for software whilst keeping in mind that if it's better done on paper, then it should be.
Maddy Kerslake, Company Secretary & Accounts
Maddy taught for many years whilst managing Topologika in her spare time; in
fact, in one memorable year she not only did both jobs but also gained an O.U.
Honours Degree while holding down a part-time job with an estate agent! She
escaped the classroom when Topologika moved to Cornwall in 1996, and still manages
us with maximum efficiency.
Jules Godfrey
Jules worked with us for a long time helping us design and test software (notably Music Box 2, Words & Music and the Mania series), manage dealers, liaise with advisors and running our marketing and PR activities. She's now gone off to do better things but plans to keep in touch as a freelance from time to time.
Will Godfrey, Customer Support & Programming
Not just our network support expert, Will also offers fantastic technical support
across our whole range. He is the author of more than a handful of our titles,
including the 'Mania' series, Talking Clocks PLUS and MusicBox 2 - with more
on the way. You can visit his website at www.omicron-technologies.co.uk
Melanie Crosby
Melanie's background is in public relations, marketing and business development - and that's just what she does for us! Despite living more than 1000 miles away in the French Alps, where she runs a ski coaching business with her husband Gavin: www.eurekaski.com, she lends her skills to us whenever we need her.
Marshal Anderson
Ex-primary teacher Marshal has been designing educational software since he got his hands on a BBC B, and you'll find many of his more recent packages on this website. His undiminished enthusiasm for creativity in schools is behind MusicBox 2, Sellardore Tales, Stig of the Dump, textThing PLUS, textThing MFL, MathsBook PLUS and ScreenTurtle 2. You can visit his website at www.marshal.co.uk
Marion Broadie
Marion has been a primary class teacher, developed music and ICT throughout a KS 2 school and been an associate ICT advisory teacher. In the early 80s she designed Peter Beater’s Music Games for the BBC B. A multitude of other ideas followed which have taken Topologika and herself 12 years, on and off, to prune and develop as Words and Music.
John Godfrey
John is a freelance graphic engineer and you can see his work in several of our titles including the Mania series, Sellardore Tales and MusicBox 2. He is also a musician/composer and has written all our groovy intro-tunes. Visit his companies website at www.merlinstudios.co.uk
Bob Black
Bob originally designed our Speaking For Myself software and
parts of the Scally series. He is now the Education Officer for
the Down's Syndrome Association, however he still finds time to
advise the team on special needs issues and offers support and
guidance on using our software with pupils with learning
disabilities.
