Software that turns MFL texts into screen or paper exercises – instantly! The ten activities (which include ‘cloze’ procedure, word searches, crosswords, scrambled sentences, sorting and punctuation tasks) motivate pupils to focus on reading, discussion, listening, thinking and problem-solving skills. They make language-learning enjoyable and could, Topologika claims, even help reverse the UK’s depressingly downward trend in modern foreign language learning! Pupils’ work can be assessed by textThing MFL’s scoring feature, and easy-to-use options allow fine differentiation between pupils, e.g. lock them into a specific text or activity for repeated practice and revision, or put the focus on certain punctuation and character clusters. Like all of Topologika’s titles, textThing MFL provides great value for money. Being essentially content-free and fully configurable, it suits Key Stages 2 to 4 and beyond.
